Delete your account and data

How to delete your Vidimu account and data, what is deleted, and what is kept and for how long.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Quick answer

  • In the app: Profile › Vidimu account › Delete account. Enter your password to confirm.
  • On the web: sign in at app.vidimu.com and use the Delete account… button on the Profile page.
  • By e-mail: write to [email protected] with the subject “Delete my Vidimu account”; we complete the request within 30 days at the latest.
  • A deletion made in the app or on the web takes effect immediately; the content of your personal space (including files) is erased permanently within 24 hours.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription; cancel it separately in the App Store or Google Play.

1. Data on your phone

If you have not created an account and do not use cloud backup or a team workspace, your photos, videos, projects, folders, tasks and punch-clock records are stored only on your device. We do not have copies. You can delete individual items in the app, or delete everything by uninstalling Vidimu. Uninstalling cannot be undone, so save anything you need to your gallery or export it first. Deleting your account does not delete the projects and records on this device.

2. Deleting your account

A Vidimu account is optional. If you have one, you can delete it in any of three ways:

  1. In the app. On the Profile page, tap the Vidimu account card. At the bottom of the Account page that opens, choose Delete account, enter your password and tap Delete my account permanently.
  2. On the web panel. Open app.vidimu.com/profile (you will be asked to sign in first; or sign in and open Profile from the user menu at the top right). Click Delete account…, tick the box confirming that your account will be deleted permanently, enter your password and click Delete my account.
  3. By e-mail. Write to [email protected] from the e-mail address of your account, with the subject “Delete my Vidimu account”. If you write from another address, we may ask you to confirm that the account is yours. We complete the request free of charge within 30 days at the latest and confirm by e-mail.

If you have forgotten your password, reset it first with “Forgot password” in the app or on the web panel, or use the e-mail option.

Once the deletion is confirmed:

  • Your account closes immediately: your sessions on all devices and on the web end, and pending password-reset links stop working.
  • Your name, e-mail address, phone number, job title, company, profile photo and settings are erased; the account record becomes an anonymous record named “Deleted user”.
  • Your workspace memberships are removed, tasks assigned to you are unassigned, invitations you sent that are still pending are cancelled, and your in-app notifications are deleted.
  • All content in your personal space (captures, projects, tasks, punch-clock records and files) is erased permanently within 24 hours. Team workspaces that you own and that have no other members are deleted with the account.
  • We send you an e-mail confirming the deletion.
  • You can later create a new account with the same e-mail address.

Before you delete:

  • Team ownership. If you own a team workspace that has other members, transfer ownership or delete the workspace first; otherwise the deletion is refused and the workspaces are listed. You can do this on the web panel.
  • Subscription. Deleting the account or the app does not cancel a subscription, and you will keep being charged. Cancel it on iPhone in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or on Android in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
  • Your content. If you want to keep your cloud-backed captures, download them first: on the web panel you can select captures on the Captures screen and download them as a ZIP. Deletion cannot be undone.

3. Team workspaces

Captures, tasks and punch-clock records in a company’s team workspace are the company’s records. If you delete your account, they stay in the workspace and show “Deleted user” as the author. Ask your workspace admin if you want them deleted. A task or team deleted in a workspace cannot be restored and is erased as described in section 5. A deleted workspace can be restored for 30 days. After that, its content is currently not erased automatically; the company that owns the workspace can ask us to erase it by writing to [email protected], and we complete the request within 30 days at the latest. A workspace’s activity log (actions such as invitations, member changes and exports, including the IP address) is kept for one year.

4. Deleting verification records

Each photo’s verification record (code, capture time, location and image fingerprints) is kept on our verification server for 5 years after capture so that the photo can still be verified later. These records are linked to a random device ID, not to your account, so deleting your account does not delete them. Deleting a photo in the app does not delete a record that has already been sent to our server either; if you delete the photo before its record is sent, the record is never sent. You can ask us to delete records earlier:

  1. E-mail [email protected] and list the codes you want removed. You can find a photo’s code on the photo itself or in the Verification card of the record in the app.
  2. We may ask for information to confirm that you took the photos.
  3. We erase the capture time, location, fingerprints and device link of those records within 30 days. The code then shows only as “removed” on the verification page.

Note that anyone relying on those photos as proof will no longer be able to verify them.

5. What is deleted, what is kept
